About DNSS

DNSS is what we call our adult teaching time at Grain of Wheat. It stands for "Definitely Not Sunday School." The "Not" part suggest that we do things a little different.

At DNSS there are more conversations and less lectures, more ways to engage the senses such as books, film, music and maybe even some art, and more open questions that we will discern and answer together.

DNSS happens on Sundays, but it might change your mind about what is meant by, "Sunday School".

Join us at 9:00 A.M., just outside our worship space and down the hall.

Looking ahead to 2010

First off, many thanks to Ed for hosting DNSS throughout advent and for some fine storytelling by the fire. I made it to two of the sessions and it was a delightful way to start my morning, listening to the crackling fire, seeing the cat curled up on the rug, and listening to Ed's dulcid tones (I wonder if Ed knew he had dulcid tones?)

I was quite struck by the Jeffrey Archer story about the young boy visiting the marketplace in Bethlehem. I think that story will stick with me over the years.

Looking ahead to 2010 - a NEW series. And a NEW time. We are just figuring out a few of the details, so please come back to the DNSS blog to learn what we will talking about next. It is bound to be exciting - okay, I am excited about it. And I hope you will be too.

For now, as we stretch out into the last few days of Advent, blessings and much joy upon you. God is with us! (Now, that's exciting!)

Craig, the DNSS guy
